NWEA
Benchmark Testing
Why do we take them?
NWEA assessments are benchmark exams that provide the school with student data. These are state mandated and direct our academic instruction and interventions.
What do we do with the information?
The data from these assessments allow our instructors to modify current curricular plans to address the needs of the students. We also use the information to identify students for targeted intervention methods. Teachers are able to utilize the school-wide homeroom period for interventions. Math, Language Arts, and Literature teachers incorporate the data into their classroom instruction.
By completing these assessments three times over the course of the year, we are able to gauge the effectiveness of our instructional practices. We can also follow our students growth.
What will middle school students be tested on?
Students will assess on Reading, Language Arts, and Mathematical skills.
