Chesterton High School
Chesterton Middle School
Yost Elementary School
Red For Ed is a national movement involving public school teachers, support staff, students, parents, and community members. Threats to public schools and students, in the form of dangerous funding cuts, school vouchers, and for-profit charter schools, are well-funded and persistent. We (Duneland) are uniting in support of our public school employees, our public school students, and our taxpayers who work so hard to support us. Westchester Intermediate will host a Walk-in on Friday morning, April 26 at 7:30 a.m. at 1050 S. Fifth Street.

Any physical given after April 1 will be acceptable for the 2019-20 school year according to IHSAA guidelines. In addition, ALL athletes must have a physical form as well as the concussion/sudden cardiac arrest paperwork on file in the athletic office prior to any summer workouts with their respective team. This includes attending summer camps with a CHS team! All incoming freshman are included in this requirement!
Physical forms should be obtained at the CHS athletic office prior to these evenings but they will also be available at check in and on the CHS and CMS athletic department web pages. Any athlete under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and all required portions of the physical form must be signed by both parents for it to be valid. Athletes are asked to wear shorts and a t-shirt for the musculoskeletal exam and should be wearing their contact lenses or glasses for the vision test. An athlete will not be cleared to participate unless he/she passes the vision test. Athletes should refrain from any high intensity workouts prior to coming to the physicals.
The cost is $25 per athlete but for those families with three or more athletes, the total cost will be capped at $75. Parents can write a check made out to CHS or pay with cash.
Please enter through Entrance 31 (northeast corner of building) and report to the cafeteria waiting area. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Athletes and parents will then be escorted to the physician exam rooms. No walk-ins will be accepted after 8 p.m. each evening.

Choral Concert at CHS: On Tuesday, April 30 the Chesterton High School Choral Dept. will host the Elmhurst College Concert Choir on the final leg of their spring tour. The Elmhurst College Choir will be performing a 45-minute choral program in the Chesterton High School Auditorium, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
CHS Choral Director Kristin Morris is an alumna of Elmhurst College. Currently singing in the Elmhurst College Concert Choir is 2016 CHS grad Natalie Mayersky. "It is important to take advantage of the opportunity to showcase what options are available to our students outside of CHS," Morris said. "There are many music opportunities to be involved after high school - students do not have to be a music major to sing in choir at places like Elmhurst and Valparaiso University."
This event is free and open to the public. Since this event is during school hours, attendees must use CHS Entrance #1 and will need to show a license or photo ID for security purposes and entry into the school. They will then be directed to the Auditorium for the concert.
