Week 5 Already!
Dear HCS Scholars,
How are we already embarking on the 5th week of the school year? In many ways, it feels like it's already flying by. At the same time, there have been days that have felt like years. I'm sure you can relate.
One of the things that I've noticed is that it has taken serious effort on everyone's part to adjust to being back in school with everyone, five days a week. I know that some days, emotions run pretty high. Hear me now: this is normal! I recently met with the principals from other schools in our region, and they are all experiencing the same thing. Please know that we hear you, we see you, and we are striving every day to meet the needs of each and every one of you. Sometimes you might have to wait to see someone, whether that person is one of our counselors, our dean of students, or even me. Even though you have to wait, we will get to you.
This coming week is a short one for you, and the following is a short one for all of us. I hope that you enter the upcoming four-day-weekend with the ability to rest and recuperate. Instead of packing your weekend with 8,475 things to do, try sleeping in or taking a long walk instead. Get some fresh air, an do something that is good for your soul.
Please take a look at the topics in this newsletter, and let me know if you have any questions. I'll see you on Monday!
Love,
Mrs. Klaehn

Seating at Lunches
Mrs. Ioti-LaFave is working on a new way to track seating, and as soon as this is ready to launch, we will do so. In the meantime, we need to you do your part in following this guideline that has been placed upon us by the New York State Department of Education. When you finish eating, you are welcome to put your mask on and move to a different spot to talk to a friend. What we cannot have, however, is students moving all over, jumping from table to table, while still eating and unmasked.
Thank you, in advance, for helping us keep you safe!
