Girls BB
The Girls basketball team went 2-0 last week with victories over Hope Academy and Twin Cities Academy! This puts their overall record at 6-6. It was fun to see all 7 members of the squad play meaningful minutes and contribute to the team's success! This week is equally busy for the Girls Basketball team, as they host Rockford High School tonight (2/7/22) at Humboldt at 7:00 PM. The Rockets are a team with a comparable record to the Hawks, and should give them a good test prior to heading into post-season play. Additionally, the Hawks are playing the next two nights as well, host Minneapolis Edison on Tuesday, and traveling to Minneapolis Patrick Henry on Wednesday. They finish their gauntlet against Minneapolis teams by traveling to Washburn on Saturday. Good luck to the Hawks during a busy week!
Boys BB
The Hawks played two hard faught conference games last week, against two of the top teams in the city. While the Hawks did not come out on top, they played hard throughout both games. This week is equally as busy for the Boys team as it is for the girls, with three games across five days. The boys will play Tomorrow, (2/8/22) on the road at Central High School at 7:00 PM. They will then have a quick turn around to host Highland on Wednesday, and Harding on Friday. This week holds some promise for the boys team as they have seemingly made it through the toughest part of the season, and are looking to end the season on a strong note!
Wrestling
This is the week we have been waiting for! After much anticipation, the rescheduled match between Humboldt and Harding is finally upon us. The Hawks will wrestle the Knights TOMORROW (2/8/22) at 5:00 PM to determine who is the OUTRIGHT CHAMPION of Saint Paul! While the Hawks are statistically promised a piece of the crown, Coach Novacheck has never been one for sharing. If the Hawks defeat the Knights, they will finish with a perfect 6-0 conference record, and be declared the conference champs for the 2nd year in a row!! If the knights win however, the Hawks will have to settle for Co-champions with the Eagles of Washington Tech. No matter what happens, we are incredibly proud of what the team has accomplished this season and are honored that they are representing our school and community so well. Let's have a great turn out to the meet and pack the stands to help motivate the Hawks to make history this Tuesday!!
