- The king of England has decided to pass a new act, the Stamp Act. The king of England proclaimed a $0.47 tax fee on stamps;printed paper;ship paper;legal documents;licenses;newspapers;other publications;playing cards. therefore everytime a British citizen attempts to acquire any of the items by the means of purchase, they must pay the initial cost as well as the tax.
