Chemical change
A process that changes substances into new substances. A few examples are the burning of wood, and the digestion of food. The four indicators are: 1) formation of gas 2) formation of solid 3) observation of heat, light or some other type of energy and 4) distinct change in color
Chemical Properties
A characteristic that is observed when a substance interacts with another substance. A few examples are the wood being burned into ashes, rust in a car and chlorine becoming salt.
Physical change
A change in matter that does not affect its chemical composition. A few examples are cutting paper, tearing a sandwich and breaking crackers.
Physical Properties
A characteristic of a substance that can be observed without changing the substance into something else. A few examples can be the smell of vinegar, the taste of sugar or the feel of fur.
