Major Depressive Disorder
- When a person, for no apparent reason, experiences 2 or more weeks of depressive moods such as worthlessness
- diminished interest and/or pleasure most activities
Mania
- When a person, for 2 or more weeks, shows symptoms such as Hyperactivity and wildly optimistic notions
Bipolar Disorder
- When a person alternates between lethargy and mania for 2 or more weeks
Schizophrenia
- Causes delusions and distorted perceptions
- Inappropriate emotions and actions (i.e. laughing as your mother dies)
- Both auditory and visual hallusinations
