Folsom School News
October 2018
Dear Folsom Families,
We are excited to the start of the school year and having your child join us at Folsom! Our school theme this year is Choose Kind. The teachers have already implemented the theme throughout the classrooms and hallways. Furthermore, schools throughout New Jersey will celebrate Week of Respect, School Violence Awareness Week, and Red Ribbon Week during the month of October! Please read below on how you and your child can participate in the many wonderful activities planned by our teachers. The end goal for all of these activities is to bring further awareness to social emotional learning and character education. We look forward to another great month at Folsom!
Respectfully,
Dr. Mazzoni

Physical Education Department
Why do we need "gym"?
"Physical activity is good not only for the heart, but also for the brain, feeding it glucose and oxygen, and increasing nerve connections, all of which makes it easier for children of all ages to learn. Numerous studies show that children who exercise do better in school."
Movement is “FUN”!
Middle School:
Physical education uniforms will be ordered due to a shortage of sizes.
Students waiting for their order to be filled should still change out into appropriate work out clothing from home. Order should be in by next week.
Elementary:
Please remember proper attire and sneakers are needed for physical education class.
Any medical notes must go to Mrs. Smith.
Athletic Department:
