SPORTS

SPRING SPORTS PICTURES

Posted below are the 2022 Spring Sports Portraits taken by two staff photographers from the Concord Chronicle: senior Georgia Weeks, juniors Caylin Bell and Connor Haire, and sophomore Rylee Sinden.

Team portraits should be added next week, as well as occasional action shots, were taken at team competitions.

We cannot thank our community enough for trusting our student photographers to take this risk and use their skills to benefit their classmates. This makes sports portraits affordable for our families and empowers our students. As always constructive feedback is appreciated.

PROM 2022 - IT'S A MASQUERADE BALL!

The junior class honors this year’s graduating seniors with a masquerade ball at the Cascades Manor 1970 Kibby Road, Jackson from 7-11pm. There is still an opportunity for families to help the junior class make this an exciting evening. We are looking for gift card donations for a raffle that evening; ideas include gas cards, restaurant cards, or cards that could be used toward dorm room supplies. Any gift cards can be dropped off in the high school office next week between Monday and Friday. We are also in need of a few more chaperones and would like to invite sophomore parents to consider a shift from 6:30-8:30 pm or from 8:30-10:30 pm. Please email amy.kelly@concordschools.net if you are available.

BIOMEDICAL PATHWAY COMERCIAL

This week Concord launched their Biomedical Pathway Commercial. The commercial should be streamed across multiple media platforms. The commercial features our K-12 students and some FABULOUS alumni!! The Biomedical Pathway Commercial is the third commercial in a series that will feature all seven of our academic pathways over the next couple of years. Last year we featured our robotics and art programs. Thank you to all of our students that were willing to be apart of making this happen.

INFORMATION FOR PARENTS ABOUT A NETFLIX SHOW STUDENTS ARE WATCHING

We want to make you aware of a Netflix show that kids are talking about here at school and that seemingly has content that is not appropriate for younger kids to watch. The show is called Squid Games and it has repetitive violence throughout it that is connected to themes generally associated with children (like outdoor games, ie: Red Light Green Light). The content can be traumatic for children to watch and is leading to increased anxiety among children as it can be extremely gruesome. The next thing to be aware of is a mobile video game called Among Us. It is a murder-mystery game where cartoon-like characters use weapons to kill each other. A great resource to check out in regards to dangerous media Common Sense Media
