Hawk Happenings!

HRBA

Happy Wednesday!

I hope that everyone made is safely through the crazy rain/wind storm yesterday. I am guessing that most of you have been following the daily COVID-19 case counts. With the exception of one decent day, the numbers have been extremely high. Thankfully, we have not had a positive case at our school, but the community spread is getting concerning. Therefore, as Archbishop Etienne and our Superintendent, Kristin Dixon have indicated, we will follow TPCHD guidance on remote learning (for counties over 75/100,000). The current count per 100,000 for 14 days is 91.8. They have asked us to monitor the cases for 2 weeks, beginning last Friday. If the case count per 100,000 does not go below 75 (meaning less than 38 cases daily in Pierce County), then we are to go remote beginning Monday, Oct. 26th. That is the plan, unless something changes between now and the end of next week. So, please plan for that. Reminder, Pre-K and K camps will remain onsite. Online/remote learning will go back to the schedule from before: 8 am-12 pm daily, with cohorts in the afternoons from 1-3 pm. So, keep an eye on those numbers and thanks to all who are being diligent about wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing. Please be aware of additional spread possibilities through items such as birthday parties, Halloween events, and other times when groups of non-family members are getting together inside. We want the kiddos on campus, so we all need to do our best to make that happen. Thank you!!

Please make sure to read this entire newsletter, as there is a lot of important info!

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

Principal

P.S. I am including the original letter regarding remote learning from the Archdiocese (in English and Spanish) for your review.

If you do not return the form, the information will be published "as is". Please contact Nina (office@holyrosarybilingual.org) with any questions. Here is additional info from the vendor as to their COVID-19 safety procedures:

Our photography team has updated procedures and implemented preventive measures that include, but are not limited to:

  • Student Masks- Our intent is to photograph all students without a mask. Students will be asked by a school employee or volunteer to remove their mask when it's their turn to be photographed. Inter-State photographers cannot require a student to remove their mask. If a student prefers, they will be photographed with their mask on.
  • Social Distancing- The distance between the camera and a student is over 6 feet. The paper tape will be used to mark 6 feet apart for the student lines. We will work with the school administration to utilize the largest and most open space in your school available, to aid in distancing.
  • Photographers are required to wear face coverings.
  • Sanitation of Photo Equipment- Cameras, equipment, and stools will be sanitized between every class or group.
  • No-touch Order Envelope Collection- We are working to be 100% paperless this year, with all orders done safely online. In the rare case that your school absolutely needs Order Flyers, a collection container will be available to place Order Envelopes. Personnel that handles Order Envelopes are required to wear gloves and a mask, reducing the amount of shared contact.
  • Whenever possible, we will keep the same teams of photographers together, minimizing their exposure to other photographers.

If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Nina (office@holyrosarybilingual.org).

Rainy Day Drop-Off Procedures

When it is raining during drop off (for grades 1 - 8) in the morning, we will have parents pull their cars around to the gym doors and children will exit into the gym and then go on to their classrooms. This will allow us to stay under cover while checking temps for the kids and will also keep the kids drier since they have a shorter walk to get in the building. This is the same procedure as we use in the afternoon.

Procedures for Late Arrival/Early Pick Up

If you are dropping off or picking up your child/ren outside of the normal time when a staff member is outside, we need you to walk in to check in at the front desk. You will sign your child in or out. Also, health screenings need to occur upon entry and an adult must remain until children are cleared to enter the school.
