TODAY IS DAY 4.
- For all students who eat in the cafeteria, Westchester County has passed a new law that requires all students to request a fork, knife, and spoon, as well as ketchup, mustard or mayonnaise when buying food from these cafeteria. These items will no longer be out for the taking. You must request them to get one while you are purchasing your food.
- The following people need to hand in uniforms back to Mrs. Persad. You may leave it in her mailbox. Please make sure it has your name on it. Thank you!

- The next meeting of the Music Production/Tiny Desk Concerts club will be held today, Wednesday, 10/25 at 3:00 in Mr. Day's Room. All club members should attend.
- SHADE Interviews will be Monday 10/30 and Thursday 11/2 afterschool in Room 303N. Sign-up sheets and applications are in the main office. Please show up to your timeslot with a completed application. Any questions, please see Ms. Goldstein in room 303N.
- Sleepy Hollow High School's GSA meets tomorrow (and most Thursdays!) from 3-4 in room 314W. Meetings are open to all students and everyone is welcome to participate. Help make Sleepy a more inclusive community and come out to a meeting! Remember, you don't have to be gay to join GSA!
- The Math Honor Society will once again sponsor the Mathematical Association of American's AMC 10 and 12 Math Competitions. The AMC 10/12 provides an opportunity for high school students to develop positive attitudes towards analytical thinking and mathematics that can assist in future careers. The AMC 10/12 is the first in a series of competitions that eventually lead all the way to the International Mathematical Olympiad. The AMC 10/12 will be administered on Wednesday, Nov. 8th during periods 7 and 8. Please email Mrs. Walsh or see your math teacher if interested.

- Attention Ski and Snowboard Club members. We are having club officer elections at 3 pm today, Wednesday, October 25th in Ms. Madani's room 208W. You are eligible to vote if you have ever attended a trip in the past with us.
- Underclassmen photo retakes will take place today, Wednesday, October 25th from 830-3. If you didn’t take a photo or would like to retake your photo simply report to the auditorium during your lunch, free period or study hall. If you have any questions contact Ms. Adamo or Mrs. Katsman.
- Are you interested in being a teacher or working with kids? Please join us for our first Take a Look at Teaching meeting this year, on Thursday, 10/26 after school in room 410E. See Mrs. Sarr if you have any questions.
- Do you think you have the best dressed pet for Halloween? Please enter our Pet Costume Contest, hosted by the PAW Club! You just scan the QR code on the flyers posted around school and submit a photo/description of your pet! May the best pet win!
- Attention all 9th and 10th grade ENL and World Language students! The Sleepy Hollow World Languages World Cup soccer game will be taking place on Thursday, November 2nd after school on the turf field. See your ENL or World Language teacher for a permission slip to participate in this great event!
- Attention Seniors!!! Senior Portrait Dates are currently open and available to make appointments: November 8th, 9th, and December 7th. There will be no senior portrait sittings past December 2023. Directions for signup can be found on the Yearbook Google Classroom. If you have any questions or if you have trouble signing up, please reach out to your Yearbook Advisors - Mrs. Katsman (Room 211W) or Mrs. Adamo (Room 210W).
- Attention underclassmen: student IDs have been handed out by science and math teachers. If you took a student portrait and did not receive your school ID please fill out the missing ID form that can be found on your Homeroom google classroom by October 31st.
- Any student that is interested in participating in Winter Sports, FamilyID is now open. The FamilyID link can be found on the HS webpage, under Athletics.
- SHHS Cares is sponsoring a sneaker drive. We are in need of new or gently used sneakers for all ages. All donations are distributed back to the community through the non-profit organization 914Cares. Boxes will be located at the main entrance and by the gym. Please support our club.
- Attention all students & staff: The fitness center is open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 6:40am for any student or staff member interested in using it. Haven’t ever worked out before or intimidated by the exercise machine thing? No problem Coach/trainer Mr. DiLorenzo is there to help show you and program for you if needed or wanted.
- The SHHS Homework Center is now open Mondays-Fridays from 3:00-4:00 PM in room 300N. We provide homework help, content-specific tutoring, general academic assistance, and snacks. Visit the HW Center today!
- The Westchester County Youth Bureau is holding a Youth Med Tech Conference at Mercy University in Dobbs Ferry on Saturday, October 28th. This free event will feature fun and engaging speakers and workshops about careers in medicine and technology. Breakfast and lunch will be served. If you are interested in attending please stop by the main office to pick up a flier for instructions on how to register or use the following QR code. - On November 7th & 8th the Community Wardrobe will be offering free winter clothing for the whole family. Items that will be available are coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and boots. You must have an appointment to shop. This event is free to local residents in need of winter gear. BLUE LIGHTS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOLS:
- Blue lights flashing notify people outside of schools that the school is on LOCKDOWN.
- Please remember NOT to enter a school when the blue light box outside of the school is flashing blue.
- All of our schools have one or more blue light boxes throughout the outside of the school. The box is gray and has a strobe light that will flash blue when activated.
- Please be advised that we do activate the blue strobe lights during our lockdown DRILLS as well.
COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:
- Interested in obtaining community service hours? Come and cheer on the Rivertown Runners this Saturday the 28th. See Mr. Matute in room 312 west for more information.
- The TaSH Farmers Market has opportunities available. Please review and complete the survey that will be emailed to your student email accounts: 2023 TaSH Hand Description + Application
RiverArts is in need of student volunteers (who work in exchange for community service hours) for their many upcoming fall events. All students will be offered tickets to our spring events if they wish to attend, as a way of saying thank you! And students who volunteer for the Ronald K. Brown Dance Company at the Tarrytown Music Hall are invited to stay and watch the performance. Please see the flier below for further details and/or stop by the main office to pick one up.
