The Liberty High School Pom and Cheer Clinic performance was cancelled at the Friday, September 18th football game due to bad weather. A courtesy call was made to all clinic participants to inform them about the alternate performance on Friday, September 25th during pre-game before the football game. The game on September 25th will be held at Liberty High School. Pre-game begins at 6:40 and the football game will start at 7:00. Participants will meet their “Buddies” on the track near the left end zone at 6:30pm. We would love them to still wear their clinic t-shirt and we look forward to watching them on the field! If your child was a walk-in to the clinic, they may pick up their t-shirt at the front entrance to the football game.

The Liberty Sapphires and LHS Cheerleaders thank you for your understanding and are excited to dance and cheer with your little ones at a Varsity football game! Thank you for your support of our programs. - Kristen Bosiljevac

Comb your hair and iron your shirt...school picture day is Thursday, October 1st! Order forms should be coming home this week.

Parents of Kindergarten through Second Graders, answers to two common ipad questions can be found below:

iPads and internet access at home:

Just a reminder that if your child is bringing home an iPad they will need to log onto the filter in order to gain internet access. To view the procedures for logging onto the filter please review this tutorial.

Pictures on iPad and Geotagging:

Geotagging is a process that records the location of a picture that is taken and incorporates that information into the picture file. This information is used to show the location of the picture in a variety of programs. It is turned on by default and if you would like to turn that feature off please look at this tutorial.

Sharks! We have 9 days left in our Read-A-Thon fundraiser and have raised $2,700. Keep it up and let's see if we can reach our goal of $5,000. Make sure you have been logging your child's reading minutes and getting those sponsors. You can mail your donations to school or have your child drop them off if you don't want to donate online.

NEW INCENTIVE: The class with the most money raised and the student with the most minutes read in each class will win a Shaved Iced Party after the fundraiser is over. The Read-A-Thon goes from September 1st-30th.

Below are a couple of videos to help walk you through sign-up and how to get sponsors. If you have lost your child's login and password info please email child's name and teacher to Michelle Campbell at schumacher.fundraising@gmail.com or call Mrs. Cummings in the Schumacher office at 736-5490.

October's skate party is a week earlier due to the Harlem Wizards game. It will be on Thursday, October 1st from 6:00-8:00pm at the Northland Rolladium!

School Skate Night parties are a fun and easy way to help raise money for Schumacher. Bring your students and any other family or friends who want to have a blast at each month's themed skate party. (The more paid skaters, the more money raised for Schumacher.)

The class with the most attendance will be awarded the "Golden Skate Award" trophy to keep in their classroom that month along with a free pass for each student in the class to use at a future public session! This month wear your favorite crazy combo for the "Crazy Wacky Hat/Hair/Socks" theme. It's only $4.00 to skate, plus $2.50 for skate rental or $3.50 for inline or speed skate rental.

Skate parties are private events for students and their families and friends. We are not open to the general public during skate parties. You are always welcome to stay and even skate with your child. If you are comfortable leaving your child, simply sign them in with a contact phone number with our experienced rink management and staff.

Schumacher is bringing the Harlem Wizards to town to play a fun basketball game against our own Liberty District faculty "The Liberty Underdogs". The game is on Thursday, October 8th at 7:00pm at Liberty High School's new fieldhouse. Some of our players include: Mr. Gabriel, Mrs. Bright, Mrs. Beaty, Mike Murphy, Andy Smith, and Mrs. Steenstra. You can purchase tickets in advance: $10 general admission (children 3 and under are free), $17 Reserved seating, $25 Courtside Plus. Courtside Plus includes a 10 minute Meet and Greet with the Wizards in a private room before the game, complimentary BBQ dinner from Mudhole BBQ before the game, a Wizards lanyard, and a Wizards team poster. General admission tickets will be $12 at the door, Reserved and Courtside Plus must be purchased in advance.

You can also purchase tickets at school or at www.harlemwizards.com. When you purchase tickets in the next week, you will go into a drawling for a wizards shirt. We have 5 shirts to give away.

The Harlem Wizard’s show brings oohs, aahs, and serious laughter inspired by sky-high slams, hilarious humor, dynamic energy, fan participation, world class tricks, and basketball wizardry. The aerodynamic athleticism coupled with comedy and community at a Wizards event will bring fans to their feet and smiles to their faces.

Please contact Michelle Campbell at schumacher.fundraising@gmail.com with questions.

It may seem early, but for some families it's time to begin thinking about Christmas. If you or a family you know need assistance this holiday season, please check out the Liberty Community Christmas Tree Program. The application deadline is a little bit earlier this year. They will be accepting applications until October 16th, 2015. For more information go here.

Also spread the word about volunteering to adopt a family! It is an awesome opportunity to teach kids about being generous, being good citizens, and taking care of our neighbors.

Fall is just around the corner and it is the time of year to begin going through your kids' closets and dressers to pull out their winter clothes. If your kiddos are growing like weeds, please remember your child's school when you are setting aside those clothes that no longer fit! If you don't plan to have a garage sale anytime soon and are looking for somewhere to donate those unwanted clothes, please consider donating them to Schumacher. It's easy! Just drop off your donations at the front office the next time you come to school. Items that are of highest need are clean, hole-free, gently-used, t-shirts, shorts, pants, and shoes, as well as new underwear, and new socks.

Thank you ahead of time for your love and generosity for your fellow Shark Families.
