History
~Originally called the Theater de Alarcon, named after Juan Ruiz Alarcon the Mexican Dramatist, but was renamed after the main benefactor, Governor Santos Degollado died.
~First inaugurated on September 13, 1866, even though it was unfinished
~Only in 1877 did Fermin Riesta decided to continue the construction on the building and then was finally completed finished in 1966
