RED RIBBON WEEK - OCTOBER 21ST - 25TH
During the week of October 21st - 25th, we will join with schools across the nation to celebrate “Red Ribbon Week”. There will be a theme each day and we encourage students and staff to dress for the theme to help teach the message of making good choices to be drug free. Please see the flyer below for more information.
Please note that on Friday, October 25th, we will hold our Storybook Parade at 8:15 a.m. Students will dress as a character that they admire from a children’s book. Start now by encouraging your child to choose a book, read it, and start working on a costume appropriate for the parade. Children will wear their costume and carry the book during the parade. Please remember no scary costumes, play weapons, or face masks. Parents are invited to view the parade in the cafeteria. Please plan to arrive early so that everyone is in place for our parade which will begin promptly at 8:15.
THIRD GRADE PROGRAM
The Third Grade Program, "Hats," will be held on Tuesday, October 29th, at 2:00 and 6:30 p.m. Third grade parents are invited to attend an open house immediately following the evening performance.
GIFTED AND TALENTED NOMINATIONS
Nominations are now open for the Conroe ISD Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until February, nominations are accepted at this time. Nominations can be made by the parents and/or teachers. It is recommended that parents of 2nd grade students wait until CogAT scores have arrived before nominating their child because CogAT scores are part of the GT assessment. If you are interested in nominating your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Nominations will be accepted through December 18th. You may request a nomination form from the front office or if you have any questions, please call Veronica Kiesz at 281-298-4700. You can also find more GT information on the CISD GT homepage.
