Together We Can!

The holiday spirit is here!

The 3rd graders are getting into the spirit by wearing their holiday gear, gobbling up treats from Mrs. Kry's bake sale (proceeds going to Toys for Tots), and making crafts. I hope that you are able to enjoy this magical time with your families!

WINTER BREAK

Wednesday, December 23, 2015 through Sunday, January 3, 2016. Enjoy your family time!

Academics

Math & Reading

In math, your children are working on our new measurement unit. We are studying length, volume, capacity, time, and graphing. Many of these are life-long skills that the kiddos will use in the future. Take a few minutes while grocery shopping or making a meal to discuss these important concepts.

In reading we are still working on identifying main idea and details while reading chapter books. We are enjoying our new titles, The Christmas Genie, Who's Stealing the Twelve Days of Christmas, and Keep the Lights Burning Abbie. A main idea assessment is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, December 9th.

Scholastic Book Fair

Central-Denison is proud to provide the opportunity to shop at the Scholastic Book Fair. It will run December 7-11, 2015. Students with money will be able to shop at their recess times. The book fair will be open Thursday, December 10th after early release until 3:30 p.m. This is a great opportunity to provide your child with some extra reading materials possibly as a gift during the holidays or help build our classroom's library while supporting Central-Denison!
