Curriculum Extravaganza!
Happy May, Vista Oaks families!
Hopefully you are already aware of our upcoming Curriculum Extravaganza and already have the flyer posted on your refrigerator ;)
But, we want to remind you that it is this coming Tuesday, May 14 from 10:00-12:00 (with a special new parent orientation from 9:30-10:00 also if you are new or newish to homeschooling). Please make it a point to come and see a variety of curriculums in all subject areas and modalities and catch some inspiration for next year! It will also be a good time to connect over coffee and pastries with other Vista Oaks families at the end of the school year.
Please RSVP for the fun art class offered for your students during that time. You can send an email to mary.wright@vistaoaks.net to RSVP with their names and ages. As always, littler ones are welcome to stay with you as you enjoy the time.
Lastly, would you please fill out this short survey for us to let us know how we can plan for next year's parent workshops according to your needs and interests? We would so appreciate it! Parent Workshop Survey

Turn Markers Into Energy
Your Junior Leadership Team is coordinating a special program at our school in conjunction with Crayola. It’s called Crayola ColorCycle – an amazing program devised to repurpose used markers rather than sending them to landfills!
The ColorCycle program has repurposed more than 70 tons of expended markers in the United States and Canada since 2013, and uses the most advanced plastic conversion technologies available today to make wax compounds for asphalt and roofing shingles as well as to generate electricity that can be used to heat homes, cook food, and power vehicles.
All around Vista Oaks, students and teachers will be collecting used markers that are ready to be discarded. Please help support our efforts by sending your kids in with any used markers you may have around the house - even non-Crayola brands! Highlighters and dry erase markers can also be included. Drop-off boxes will be located in the Art Room and the Oak Room for your child to deposit the markers.
Thank you in advance for participating! With the help of parents like you across the country, the Crayola ColorCycle program can continue to keep tons of plastic out of landfills each year.
Remember, don’t throw out that used marker—ColorCycle it!
Oak Room Hours

Please be sure to clip and trim any box tops you may have and bring them into the Oak Room. Our school earns $.10 per Box Top. Thank you!
