Noble Gases
What are the noble gases
any of the seven chemical elements that make up Group 18 (VIIIa) of the periodic table. The elements are helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), radon (Rn), and element 118 (temporarily named ununoctium [Uuo]).
helium
Helium gas is used to inflate blimps, scientific balloons and party balloons. Plus it makes your voice squeky if you inhale it.
neon
The largest use for neon gas is in advertising signs. Neon is also used to make high voltage indicators
argon
It is used to fill incandescent and fluorescent light bulbs to prevent oxygen from corroding the hot filament.
krypton
Krypton is used in some types of photographic flashes used in high speed photography. Krypton has the atomic number of 36
xexon
Xexon is used in photographic lamps and intensive arc lamps. Xexon can be found in police car lights.
radon
radon is sometimes used by hospitals to treat cancer and other diseases. Radon has an atmoic number of 86. It is a rare radioactive element
