What's Happening This Week...
Welcome Aztecs to the 2020-2021 School Year
Greetings Aztecs!
We cannot wait to reconnect with you this school year. While this year is going to be like none other, we will honor physical distance (6ft) but embrace social closeness. We are eager to help you achieve academically and socially. Our teachers spent numerous hours preparing for your return and are ready to champion you across the finish line.
To our Aztec Learning Community, I cannot thank you enough for trusting us with the biggest responsibility you have... your children. We do not take that responsibility lightly and are committed to do whatever it takes to help them succeed and be safe. Your support and patience during these unprecedented times is invaluable.
To my seniors, I recognize this is not the senior year you had in mind, but we are determined to find innovative and creative ways to make each moment count. The class of 2020 was dealt a rough and unexpected hand; yet, they rose in the midst of adversity and earned $11 million in scholarships. Moreover, our District & Campus commitment to graduation was unwavering. So my challenge to you is not to step on the brakes as this is your 4th year in high school, instead put the pedal to the metal and see what you are really made of. Reach out to our counselors and college advisor to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there for you.
To my brand new Aztecs, welcome to the Empire where we believe that every student has the potential to be a scholar and champion. I understand there might be some anxious emotions starting at a new school or high school. Please be believe me when I say you are not alone. This year is extraordinary in that all scholars are feeling the same way. Believe it or not, so are many adults. When you need help or support do not hesitate to reach out. Because here at the Empire, you will always matter, always be important, and forever be loved.
On that note, "Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail." (Emerson) Be the warriors I know you are and be driven in the pursuit of excellence.
You Matter,
Venessa Betancourt
