Quarterly news from PRMS Library
Volume 1, Issue 4
Welcome to the library's newsletter. I share news at the end of each nine weeks. As always, let me know if you have suggestions!
What's new?
Series labels
One of the most frequent questions students ask is, "What's the next book in this series?" To make the collection more accessible to students, I've added spine labels numbering our fiction books that are part of a series.
Library Happenings
Author Visit with L.S. Albright
On December 9, students visited with local author L.S. Albright, who recently released a middle-grade mystery novel titled "Tales from Evergreen Hollow." She met with GATE classes and other interested students to share writing tips and walked them through a few exercises to release their creativity.
Book Tasting
The library was transformed into a "cafe" for several days in December. Reading classes participated in a "book tasting" to try new genres for independent reading.

Ken Burns in the Classroom
PBS just launched a resource for educators that contains clips of Ken Burns' documentaries, lesson plans, and media galleries that contain photographs and other primary sources. The site has resources for about a dozen films to start, but more will be added in the coming months.
