What is empathy?
Well empathy is the ability to understand and share the feeling of another.
Do you think people need empathy to create good art?
A person does need empathy to create great art.
Do you think people do not need empathy to create good art?
It may be possible that a person does not need empathy to create great art. Even if someone dose not have empathy they can still create meaningfull art. Even if you didn't experience that event or moment that person with no empathy can still draw that moment or event but not detailed.
Why do I think a person needs empathy to create good art?
There are two points that are wonderful. The first point, is that artists need to use their heart when creating great art. The second point, is If artists are empathetic they have more imagination in what they create.
Empathy example 1
This is an example of empathy because the person on the left know exactly how the person on the right feel.
Empathy example 2
This is an example of empathy because the three people on the right are telling the person on the left that, they know how the the person on the left feels.
Empathy example 3
This is an example of empathy because the baby on the left is crying about something. The baby on the left is trying to tell him that I know how you feel.
How do these pieces of evidence support the claim?
The piece of evidence that supports the point, artists need to use their heart when creation great art is " Yes, as a painter you will need a hand, and as an actor need a voice and a body-but before getting to those we need to develop the eye, the ear, the heart." (page 123 Smith paragraph 4). The piece of evidence to that supports my second point which is, if artists are empathetic they have more imagination in what they create is " 'What are you going to draw?' Andrea asked. Zebra shrugged and said he didn't know. 'Use your imagination,' she said. Then she said, 'Wait, what am I seeing here? Are you able to move those fingers?' " (page 158 Potock paragraph 216 - 218). These are the pieces of evidence that proves my points.
What do these pieces of evidence mean?
To start, the first point which is artists need to use their heart when creation great art. So the evidence that supports it is " Yes, as a painter you will need a hand, and as an actorI need a voice and a body-but before getting to those we need to develop the eye, the ear, the heart." (page 123 Smith paragraph 4). This shows an artist does need empathy to create great art because if you want to become a painter you need a hand, voice a and a body. This proves that you will need empathy to create great art. For my second point which is if artists are empathetic they have more imagination in what they create. So the evidence that supports it is " 'What are you going to draw?' Andrea asked. Zebra shrugged and said he didn't know. 'Use your imagination,' she said. Then she said, 'Wait, what am I seeing here? Are you able to move those fingers?' "(page 158 Potock paragraph 216 - 218). This shows an artist can create art with a good imagination. This proves that if you have empathy it can lead to having great imagination. These are the explanation of the two pieces of evidence.
Conclusion
In conclusion, a person does need empathy to create great art. Do you think a artist need empathy to create great art?
