Open Your Hearts and Doors
WHAT IS GLOBAL HOME?
'Global Home' was an initiative taken by AIESEC in Mumbai in 2015 to provide our international interns with host families to make their exchange experience in Mumbai as memorable and culturally engaging as possible. We wanted to make sure that every exchange participant who engaged with AIESEC in Mumbai, left the city with a home to call their own at the end of 6 weeks.
This year, we want to continue the tradition.
HOW CAN WE DO THAT?
How do we make this happen? How do we make sure that Mumbaikars know about Global Home, and Mumbaikars open their doors to an international student?
That's right. It starts with us. Do we believe in the concept of Global Home? Do we want to make it happen for our interns? Then each and every one of us needs to contribute.
100 HOME STAYS. SOUNDS TOUGH?
Let's make it easier for YOU.
ALL YOU NEED TO DO, IS GET 5 HOME STAYS FOR AIESEC IN MUMBAI.
5 home stays. That's all. Talk to people within AIESEC, talk to your friends, talk to your relatives, talk to your neighbours, talk to your parents, talk to your parents' friends, talk to the random stranger you meet while standing in the line for a movie ticket. Talk to Mumbai. And convince 5 people to have the beautiful experience of hosting an international intern.
If each and every one of you put your 100% efforts into this, even if you convince just ONE person in one day, we will have 100 home stays in the next 5 days. All you have to do, each and every single GCO member, TL, director needs to do, is give it their 100% and convince FIVE people individually in the next five days. Those 5 people can be externals, AIESECers, yourself, whoever. Make it go viral. Make Global Home this year like never before. Give 100 interns a family to take back home this summer.
BUT WAIT...WHAT DO WE DO NOW?
Confused what to talk about? What kind of hosts to get on board? What expectation settings to have? Check this out. The national guidelines LCs who want to do Global Home. Yes, AIESEC India adopted Mumbai's initiative. What is Mumbai doing now? :)
