Annual Back to School BBQ!
We had a fantastic turnout for our annual Back to School BBQ on September 7th! Thank you to Mr. Hearne and Ms. Heeley for manning the grill, the school board and administration for helping to cook, and the PTO for supplying all of the hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and setting up!
Guest Readers in First Grade
First grade welcomed guest reader, Mrs. Wilson, who read the story Kindness Grows. First graders and Mrs. Wilson discussed all the ways that kindness can be shared, and what it might look like all over the school!
Handwriting Without Tears
Students in grades K-5 will again be instructed on writing practices using the Handwriting Without Tears program.
About the Handwriting Without Tears Program:
* Research-backed curriculum designed to be easy to teach and easy to learn.
* Developmentally appropriate sequence flows from K-5.
* Explicit instruction combined with guided practice to promote handwriting automaticity.
* Multisensory learning engages visual, audio, and kinesthetic learners.
* Hands-on tools to build vocabulary, fine motor, and alphabet knowledge prior to writing letters.
* Handwriting student editions foster student success with a clean, simple and intuitive design.
One Trusted Adult, Grades 6-8 Advisory
Our middle school students have begun working on this program in their advisory groups each afternoon. All 6-8 graders have been divided amongst the middle school teaching staff and guidance (Mrs. Bidwell 8th, Mr. Cipriano, Mrs. Lakeman & Mrs. Clark 7th, and Mrs. Guest and Ms. Wells 6th). Mrs. Wilson also floats between all of the advisories.
This work has been given to us free of charge for the 22-23 school year through the NH Department of Education. We are really excited to have access to the program for our students and our school!
We have also been given access to the OTA: Foundations for Parents.
This 4-hour virtual course will help you understand the importance and urgency of WHY trusted adults are so needed and valuable now. You can click on the link below for the Get Started Guide to access the program. Please do share this with other adults that you think would benefit!
The mission is to ensure that every young person has at least one trusted adult in their life - and we’re so excited to have you join us on that journey. This is open to all adults, not just those that have connections to students in grades 6-8.
Instructions To Get Started
You will need to use the code: SAU53HS-PC to gain access to the course.

Outdoor Classroom Visits
First grade hit the trails, and began making their own designs for an outdoor classroom.

PTO Fall Fundraiser
FOR SALE NOW!!
This is a fun and easy way to support Chichester PTO! It feels good to give back, and it feels really good if you win a sweet prize while doing it!
Raffle entries are $10 a piece or 6 for $50. Each entry puts your name into 31 days of raffles! A raffle is drawn each day of the month. If you win, your name is taken out. But if you have multiple entries you can win multiple times. Last year we had a few winners who won on multiple days!
We take cash or check, but for those who are digitally inclined we also take Venmo - so you don't even need to stand up to get your wallet! Just Venmo @ChichesterPTO (you'll see our emblem as the icon) in the amount you want to spend and we will automatically enter your name the correct amount of times.
If you'd like to use cash or check, please message me and I will make arrangements personally with you. CCS students will also be bringing order forms home for those who would prefer to send cash or check in with them.
Take a look at our array of diverse prizes! Our sponsors were so very generous, so we hope this turns out to be a great fundraiser!
1 entry = $10
6 entries = $50
Please comment with any questions!

Weeknight Recipe Share
Mrs. Wilson has been adding this section into our staff Monday Memo, and our communications committee has asked a similar section to be placed into our bi-weekly school newsletter. We all know that getting meals on the table during the school week is hectic enough, so our hope is that by giving you some inspiration, that will help! Feel free to send us some ideas of your own to highlight!
