Class news updates for the week of January 11-15

Parent Notes

Dear Parents,

Just wanted to say welcome back and Happy New Year. I would like to thank all the children and parents for the wonderful gifts, cards and yummy treats that were sent to me over the Holiday Season. Your kindness is greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

As the second semester begins, there is so much to be grateful for. Our biggest blessing of course is the children in our class. I am pleased to say that all the children returned to class with so much enthusiasm and excitement. I missed their faces, hugs and smiles and was so excited to see them return. We spent much of the first week back reviewing class routines and procedures.

The next couple of weeks our class will begin a new unit on clothing. The children will explore the types of clothes used in different seasons and discuss the different types of clothes worn in different parts of the world. The children will enjoy various activities based on books read in class focusing on clothing.

We will continue to work on pre-reading , pre-writing, math and fine motor skills. As we move through the year I ask that your review their daily folder each day as important information will be sent home to help reinforce lessons learned in class.

Please continue to practice writing first names, cutting with scissors, writing letters and identifying letter names, numbers and shapes daily. We are incorporating these skills in our daily activities and would appreciate you practicing these skills at home as well.

As always thank you for your continued support!!
