FEBRUARY 15, 2023 - NEWSLETTER
SLPHS families,
We are in the middle of our 2023-2024 course registration process, with students and families considering and selecting courses for next year. We hosted the 8th grade students and families last Thursday. It was great to meet some of our incoming 9th grade families.
Come in and learn more. There are a few more family events coming up to learn more about registration and next year’s courses:
- Thursday, February 16 at 6 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center -- Registration Information Session for families
- Friday, February 17 at 11 a.m. in the Fine Arts Center -- Registration Information Session for families
- Tuesday, February 21, 5-7 p.m. – 2023-2024 Curriculum Event: We will hold an open house style curriculum night for families to come in and learn more about classes their student is considering for next year. Teachers will be available to explain the course learning outcomes and student learning experiences families can expect in their classes. I hope to see a lot of families here next Tuesday!
Course registration for next year is open until February 24. There are extensive resources available online to support families through the course registration process.
I look forward to connecting with the families that are scheduled for parent-teacher conferences tomorrow evening and Friday morning. Enjoy the long weekend and the Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday. We will see students back in the building on Tuesday, February 21.
One school, one community, #SLPPantherProud!

Preparing the next generation of educators
Through the Teacher Education course in the Health and Human Services pathway, students at Spring Lake Park High School are student-teaching in classrooms across the district as they explore a career in education.
Ashley Stewart returned to Northpoint, where she began her education, to explore teaching as a potential career. Addy Lier is going deep with Spanish Immersion, and Kallie Nielsen is exploring a long-term interest in Special Education. Read the story about how these students are gaining experience inside a real classroom.
Registration 2023-2024: Family information sessions
There are two more opportunities to learn more, in-person, about course registration for next year. We welcome families to the high school:
- Thursday, February 16 - 6 p.m.
- Friday, February 17 - 11 a.m.
Course catalogs, overview presentations and more are also available on the registration hub on our website.
Singing Telegrams
Incoming singing telegrams at the high school! Students and staff delivered lighthearted songs sang by the choir to share the love yesterday. Hear the songs in the most recent posts on our Facebook page.
