Please mark your calendars for the following:
NO School on Wednesday, September 12th due to P.E.D. (see below).
1/2 Day on Thursday, October 4th for Parent/Teacher Conferences
NO School on Friday, October 5th for Parent/Teacher Conferences
School Supply Lists Please click here to access the school supply lists for all RBBCSC buildings. Please note, EHS students DO NOT have a regular list of supplies. | Late-Start Wednesdays - starts 8/15 Starting Wednesday, August 15th and for the remaining Wednesdays of the school year, RBBCSC school will operate on a late-start schedule. All buildings will open 30 minutes later than their regular start times to allow staff to collaborate and receive additional training to better serve all RBBCSC students. Please see the note about 2 hour delays that occur on a Wednesday. | 2 Hour Delay Schedule RBBCSC operates on a 2 hour delay whenever inclement weather or hazardous road conditions exist. Parents that are signed up to receive calls (in Harmony) will get a robo call recording letting them know of the delay and the reason. Please note: all RBBCSC schools operate exactly 2 hours later than their regular start times during a 2 hour delay. A 2 hour delay OVERRIDES a late start Wednesday, meaning the day will start 2 hours later and not 2.5 hours later than a regularly scheduled day. The district also notifies radio stations, changes the stoplight on the webpage to a yellow, and posts on the district's Facebook page whenever there is a delay or cancellation. |

Student Drop-Off/Dismissal ProceduresIt is crucial that addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and emergency contact information is correct through-out the school year. Parents who have a child who will NOT be picked-up/dropped-off at their residence will need to fill out an Alternative Address form at the school. Parents of EPS/EIS students, please make sure your child's teacher KNOWS in writing how your child will go home the first several days of school. Boys & Girls Club Families: Please let your child's teacher know how your child should be dismissed during the weeks of August 20th through August 31st when the Club is closed. | Volunteer Background Checks At RBBCSC it is our policy to have ALL visitors who enter the school buildings during school hours to have their background checks ran EACH school year. Please complete this document for EACH adult family member who will be doing any of the following: visiting the classroom, eating lunch with your child, field trips, and any special school events (like Breakfast Buddies, Veterans' Day, and award ceremonies to name a few). Those who do not pass the background check will not be able to enter the buildings - and will be notified by school personnel. | Dress Code Before you head out to buy back-to-school clothing, please keep the RBBCSC dress code in mind. It is in the school handbooks, but also available here. |

Performance Enrichment Days! What are they?
RBBCSC has been designated a Performance Qualified School District for the 2018-2019 school year. A school district or high school earns this status by receiving an ‘A’ rating in the previous year. By being a Performance Qualified School Corporation, RBBCSC is permitted to exercise flexibility in our school calendar.
RBBCSC has chosen to take advantage of this opportunity in the following strategic ways:
Parent-Teacher Conferences
- October 4 (1/2 day)
- October 5 ( 1 full day)
Two Professional Development Days
- September 12 (1 day)
- March 27 (1 full day)
Students will not physically come to school on these three and a half days that we are calling ‘Performance Enrichment Days’. Instead, students will be given standards based educational activities that are aligned with their current studies to work on from home.
EJHS and EHS students will utilize their Chromebooks to complete the assigned activities. EPS and EIS students will be given a list of enrichment activities to work on during a Performance Enrichment Day. These activities may involve elementary students finishing the assignment on their Chromebooks or iPads when returning to school.
Students will be credited for attendance on a Performance Enrichment Day based on meeting teacher expectations for the assigned educational activities. More details will follow as we get closer to the first Performance Enrichment Day.

School Wide Title I at EPS and EIS
Both EPS and EIS now have a school wide Title I program. A school wide program serves all children in the school and ensures that all staff, resources, and classes are part of the educational program. It also allows for greater flexibility of programs and services. A school wide Title I program will provide high quality education for all students to close the achievement gap.
Please take 3 minutes to fill out this very quick and easy survey

Meet Our New EJHS Principal, Mr. Siegelin
I am excited to join the RBB family as Principal at Edgewood Junior High. I received my BS from Indiana Wesleyan University in Secondary Math Education and MS from Indiana University in Educational Leadership. I have had the opportunity to work at the high school and junior high level. I was a math teacher at Trinity High School in North Carolina and at Warren Central High School in Indianapolis. After three years at the high school, I made the switch to the junior high level and have never left. I had the opportunity to work at Chapel Hill 7/8 Center on the west side of Indianapolis as a math teacher, team leader, and co-department chair. While teaching, I was always passionate about coaching, partly for my love of sport and partly for my desire to connect with students outside of the classroom walls. I coached football, wrestling, and baseball. In 2013, I was fortunate to be offered the position as Assistant Principal and Athletic Director at Tri-North Middle School. I served in that role for five years.
I am married to Jessica and this past June we celebrated our 14th year of marriage. We are blessed with three great kids, Ava, Jonah, and Lilah. All three of our children will be students in the RBB school system this year. As a family we have loved being part of this community and the way that the school system has worked hard to create opportunities for families to be involved in the education of our children. My goal has always been to work and serve in the community where we live, and with this new position at EJHS, I am getting to fulfill that dream. This community is important to my family and we feel blessed to be here.
My goal for EJHS is to work hard to continue and build upon the academic success of the recent years while working hard to get parents and families more involved at the secondary level. Please feel free to reach out to me via email at jsiegelin@rbbschools.net or phone at 812-876-2005 if you have questions, concerns, or to share ideas on how we can continue make EJHS the best experience for students and children.
