2020-2021 School Reopening Plan
Virtual and School Based Instruction
GCSD families have the option of choosing between two tracks of instruction: Virtual or School Based.
Families who chose the Virtual option will have students who receive 100% of their instruction online. This is regardless of the DHEC numbers.
Families who choose the School Based option will be led by the District (Remote, Hybrid, Prime), based on monthly DHEC numbers. Parents will not have the opportunity to choose between these options.
Once a choice is made between Virtual Instruction or School Based Instruction students will remain in this instructional choice until the conclusion of the first Semester. Please see the District's Reopening Plan summary for further clarification.
GCSD Virtual Program Application
Georgetown County School District has developed a virtual program for families who are concerned about the COVID-19 pandemic, but want the benefits of having access to certified teaching while remaining in the District. Students who enroll in this program must commit to remaining in the program until the end of the 1st Semester.
If you are interested in this option for the 2020-2021 school year please submit your application by Wednesday, July 29th.
GCSD LEAP Days
As we prepare for the beginning of the school year, grades PK-8 will participate in LEAP (Learn, Evaluate, Analyze, and Prepare) days to assess students prior to the beginning of the school year. Students will also receive Chromebooks and textbooks during this time. Please view the picture for the LEAP days and alphabet breakdown.
