Hands on with Google Slides
Lakeland School System Technology - Summer 2016
About the session:
Where: Lakeland City Hall
When: Thursday, June 9 from 10 am to noon
Google Slides is Google’s version of PowerPoint but it is so much more. Since it is cloud-based, students can collaborate on presentations and work on the same files at the same time. You, as the teacher, can even watch them as they work. They can embed YouTube videos, insert images, use a variety of drawing tools, provide links to websites, embed charts and graphs from data stored in a Google Spreadsheet, and so much more. Go beyond using Slides as a substitution for PowerPoint. Ideas for lessons: brainstorming, mind-mapping, visual thinking, organizing thoughts, reordering items, creating cartoons, and more. Some of my favorite projects include making animated videos (think claymation but with each image being on its own slide).
