Providing colleagues with a sense of current priorities, new initiatives and ongoing projects occurring within each department at the Catholic Education Centre (CEC).
Superintendents
There are two engagement opportunities on Thursday with a Superchat at Holy Trinity Academy and a parent faith information meeting at Holy Spirit Academy. There are also ward committee meetings in High River and Okotoks this week. Interviews will be held this week for the Director of Facilities position. Vince will be finalizing and actioning calendar feedback and working with School Engage on Human Resources forms. Michael noted that Jennifer has been trained as a fire warden and he reviewed fire evacuation plans with staff. Andrea reported that last week’s parent engagement session regarding the replacement school for École Good Shepherd was well received and she thanked Cindy, Michael, and Jacealyn for populating the school’s website with information for parents including the presentation, schematic designs, and a question and answer document. Andrea also spoke about the work the trustees are doing as advocates for CTR. The trustees have been presented with supporting documents regarding their schools and communities to assist them in their conversations with local MLAs. On the weekend, Pat and Andrea as well Stacey, trustees, admin, and CTR parents attended the Catholic education symposium. Andrea said the experience was beautiful and affirming of the work of Catholic education and that faith formation is central to the mission of CTR.
Corporate Services
Staff should have received an email saying that they can now access T4s slips in Atrieve. Today there will be a meeting with consultants on the primary revised budget for the Strathmore expansion.
Learning
Cheryl reported that Alberta Education is seeking consultation around social curriculum and early years assessments. She will also be working on building Many and One resources for admin and teachers, and will be in St. Anthony’s for a day of numeracy with teachers.
Religious Education
This week Grant will be finalizing Faith Days preparations and attending a Many and One Committee meeting.
Facilities
Dave reported that Nancy has completed reconciliation for the CMR projects for the last quarter to present to the government. Work continues on the St. Joseph’s modulars which are expected to be completed during the week of Faith Days.
Human Resources
Carmen is working on preliminary staffing lists and summer school planning. There will be a substitute teacher PD on March 8th and Carmen will be away in Brooks and Medicine Hat this week for career fairs.
Student Services
Rhonda reported that there will be a Dossier working group meeting this week to provide feedback on the ISP templates and behavioural support documents. There will also be an organizing committee meeting for the Youth Summit this week.
Information Technology (IT)
No report this week.
Communications
Cindy reported that the Centre for Learning@HOME website will launch this week. She will attend a Many and One meeting this afternoon and an emergency management agency meeting with the Town of High River tomorrow and the Okotoks ward meeting on Thursday.
Social Committee
Stacey reminded staff to sign up for Lenten soup Fridays.
Thank You
Andrea thanked Jennifer for being pastoral to the students from St. Luke’s. Vince thanked Rhonda and Carmen for navigating a complicated staffing issue last week.
