Making a difference, one person at a time
Reading Month off to Synchronized Start
This month we ramp up our reading to the next level. With that being said, I really believe we MUST model reading for our students. What I would love to see is at least once a week share a picture of you reading. This can be at home, school, truly anywhere! I'd like to post these on our Warner Facebook page, the screen in our hallway/lounge and during assemblies this month and beyond.
A few things I'm hoping to start this month...
- 1-2 times a week I plan to read a story and post it to our Warner Facebook page
- Encourage families to share pictures reading together
- A small group that reads with me 4-5 times a week. The book I'm aiming to begin is Wish.
- Give praise and tokens of appreciation for students that create Family Book Talks on their own time.
The goal is to model reading to our students even more than we currently do. I want to make this a family activity.
Many of our students follow our lead. They want to please the adults in their life. I encourage you to show off your love of reading!
