Attendance Matters!
While we understand there are a lot of illness going around Scituate and RI right now, we want to encourage our students to come to school everyday if you are not sick. Currently, 17.4% of Scituate High School are deemed "chronically absent" which is determined as 18% of the school year. We currently rank 96th of all schools in RI for chronic absenteeism. Please come to school if you are not sick... we need you!!
Below are interactive leaderboards and resources for absenteeism from the Commissioner and the Governor.

Class of 2028 Visits CTE Courses!
Last week, our 8th grade students had the chance to explore our high school's CTE academies! Students were able to rotate to different classrooms and learn about the experiences that they can be a part of when they enroll in Entrepreneurship, Biomedical Science, Engineering, or Computer Science at SHS!
Please Help Spread the Word
Calling all SMS 8th Graders and any students from RI interested in coming to SHS next year!!
From Scituate National Honor Society
Shortly after the first semester ends, juniors and seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 or higher, and who do not have a negative disciplinary record, will be invited to apply for membership in the National Honor Society. Qualified students will get an email from Mrs. Stormont with further instructions about completing candidacy forms.
Juniors who are invited must be able to show documented proof of at least 35 hours of community service work for 2 or more organizations (totalling 35 hours, not 70 hours) and seniors who are invited must be able to show at least 40 hours for 2 or more organizations.
An invitation is not a guarantee of membership.
More information can be found on Scituate's school district website. Please contact advisor Mrs. Stormont with questions at maggie.stormont@scituateschoolri.net
From Math
Students in Mrs. Dailey’s Topics in College Math class concluded their study of probability by creating games of chance and then inviting Mrs. Kennedys Math 7 class to visit and play them. The Topics students calculated the theoretical probabilities of their games in advance, then ran the games for the 7th graders while keeping data on the outcomes, and then compared their results to the theoretical values.
Seal of Bi-literacy February 2nd
Students in Spanish 4 will be testing for the Seal of Biliteracy on Feb 2, 2024.
If any senior wants to test for any additional languages that they can communicate in, they need to let Mrs. Langlais know asap.

Academy of Biomedical Science and HOSA
Hi, We are three seniors attending Scituate High School, looking to fundraise for Stroke victims. We have chosen the Stroke Support Association to empower stroke survivors and their families with resources to recover, reclaim, and rebuild their lives. We have competed in Medical Innovations for the past two years designing a prototype to help stroke victims regain their hand function, now we have ventured on to Community Awareness, spreading information and awareness to and about stroke victims so their stories can be heard. Please help us in providing these victims with a little extra help! Every dollar counts! You can donate through the link attached. If you are unable to donate, please help us share the message.
