Jade is reading

The 57 Bus by Dashka Slater

What on the surface begins as a cut-and-dry true crime novel, becomes an in-depth look at what it means to be a victim in today’s society. This book brought me to tears many times, beginning in the very first chapter. It also reminded me that people are so much more than what a newspaper headline or a social media page can encompass. People all have good and bad within them, as well as an infinite capacity for forgiveness and love.

Don’t let the fact that this is nonfiction fool you; this book weaves a tale of growth, change, pain, and love as well as any fiction novel.
