Kia ora e te whānau,

Kei te pukumahi matou mo te wiki o te reo maori.

It is maori language week and we have been working hard! We are starting to wrap up our ocean inquiry, and are preparing for the end of term.

Coming up is a public holiday to commemorate Queen Elizabeth and school will not be open on Monday the 26th of September.

Ngā mihi,

Pounamu Teachers.

Important Reminder!

Unless you hold a mobility parking permit please do not park in our disabled parking space. This space is needed multiple times each day by at least one of our families and vehicles not displaying a mobility parking permit have been preventing them from accessing it.

Enviro Day! - 27th September

Kia ora Paparangi School whānau!

Spring has sprung and as such, Paparangi School are using this term's Enviro Day on the 27th September to do a spring clean. As part of this, we are also running another gardening materials drive. We would love to take your pre-loved gardening tools, seeds, seedlings, pots, cuttings, potting mix, etc... off your hands. A new addition to our list of items we would love donated is any test pots that you no longer require. These will be used to help us create a mural with Paparārangi Kindy. Please send your child to school with any donations on the 27th of September and place them in the donation box outside the office or email sam@paparangi.school.nz or christinel@paparangi.school.nz.

Thank you in advance for your donations and support!

Sam, Christine and the Eco Warriors

Relationship and Sexuality Education - Monday

We have started our Relationship and Sexuality Education programme.

This lesson was not taught this week due to illness so it will be this coming Monday.

The topic this coming Monday is as follows:

Y2s -Standing up for Myself and Others

Y3s - I'm the Boss of My Body

Learning outcomes

  • • Students will understand that their body is their own and they can

decide what to do with it.

    • Students will know what to do and say if they don’t feel comfortable

    or safe in a situation.

For those of you who were unable to come to the parent meeting the link to our presentation is here.

If you have any questions please contact Amanda at amanda@paparangi.school.nz.

No Nuts!!

Pounamu syndicate is NUT FREE. This means no nuts or nut products including nutella and muesli bars with nuts in them.

We appreciate your co-operation.

BLUE PENS

We have run out of pens at school! We would appreciate if everyone could bring 2 to school.

Stationery

Many children are finding that they need new stationery.

We sell all the books needed at school and can add the cost to your account for you to pay later. We will send you an email to let you know we have done this. Most of the books are about $3.

Let us know if you would prefer to provide your own or if you have any that were sent home in Term 1 you can return them for us to use.

Thanks.

Library times

We have turns going to the library on Fridays. On an odd week Rooms 3 & 5 go, on an even week Rooms 2 & 4 go.
