Jones County Literacy
Title I Event & Resources for Families
Literacy is Powerful!
Literacy provides us all with a magical power! When you can read and write, it allows you to have greater self-confidence and independence. Once you have this power, you can tackle the world with more ease and assurance. The ability to seek out and understand information gives us all the freedom to make choices, to advocate for ourselves, and to learn more about our community and world.
We will be presenting two live Zoom sessions concerning literacy and would love for you to attend. During the sessions, Mrs. Amy Marlowe, Jones County Literacy Specialist, will provide you with information about how to best support your child at home, current literacy initiatives in our schools, and summer reading information. If you are unable to attend one of the live Zoom sessions, you may view the presentation on this platform.
Please see below for the RSVP button to join our live Zoom session on Tuesday, May 4th at 6:00 PM for parents of students in grades K-5 or Thursday, May 6th at 6:00 PM for parents of students in grades 6-12. Once you've RSVP'd, a Zoom link email will be sent to you. You will also find literacy resources below for you to use to help your child at home. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
