"I Can Do Things You Cannot, You Can Do Things I Cannot; Together We Can Do Great Things." Mother Teresa

Five full days! We made it and more importantly so did the students! Our enrollment at the Jr/Sr High is up over 700 students, an increase of over 40 students! That is wonderful news on so many levels! Our transfer students have expressed they feel welcome and accepted and are quickly learning the ropes at CN. Thank you for helping them find their way and making vital connections.

I was encouraged this morning at our meeting by the Student Success stories many of you shared. It is not always easy to focus on the positive, especially as the year goes on, but it can make such a difference in our daily lives. Thank you for sharing and I hope you find a way to express this to the students as well (Cougar Cards are always appropriate :)

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we've worked on some policies and procedures to start the year that have resulted in some delays with Powerschool, Grades, etc. Keep the lines of communication open and we will as well. Together, we will get to where we need to be for our students.

Have a wonderful weekend! We will see you on Monday, recharged and ready to go!

Brian Wesson, Technology Integration Specialist

Not many people know that I started my educational journey at CN as part of Wolf Lake Elementary’s 1994 Kindergarten class. Fast-forward to present day and you’ll find me beginning my 6th year as a CN staff member! I started in a 5th grade classroom, and now I’m here to support technology integration throughout the district. When I’m not hanging out with my fellow cougars, I can be found spending time with my wife, Emily, and my daughter, Thea.

Grateful Friday Challenge

Week 2: Another great week is in the books!

Did you know that you worked 5 days this week?

Did you know when you cut through an apple sideways you get a 5-pointed star?

Did you know that the majority of people have 5 digits on each of their hands?

Did you know that 5 is the only prime number to end in the digit 5?

Grateful Friday High Five Challenge! I want you to put those 5 digits to work!

Run the 5’s up and down the aisles of your classroom, collect them in the hallway as kids walk through the door to learn, and/or air high five your colleague who is 4 doors down from you! (If they don’t play back, it will look like you are waving at them…also great!)

Also, if you are not feeling confident in your High Five abilities, check out the etiquette video below for some helpful tips!
