Library News
Hello Friends, we are excited about our upcoming Name That Book, NTB, competition in February.
Grade level competition will take place on Thursday, February 10, during the students' large group time:
3rd @12:40-1:35
4th @ 2:10-3:05
5th @ 3:10-4:05
Parents of students competing are invited to attend. Please fill out the forms sent home the first week in February. This will help expedite the printing of your name tag to enter the building. The top two scoring teams from each grade level will move on to compete on Thursday, February 24 at 9 am in the library. Our final highest scoring team will compete at the Berry Center on Tuesday, March 29! Keep reading and supporting our wonderful teams.
In February the library will have a school-wide incentive to promote literacy. It will require students to read to parents, online, and a variety of activities to motivate and make reading fun and rewarding.
March brings us Read Across America. We will have Green Eggs and Ham, and Dr. Suess T-shirt day along with other Dr. Seuss-themed activities. It’s always a pleasure to read to the students, and thank you for your support.
Ms. Emerson Wolfe
Upcoming Second Grade Program
Second Grade Parents,
Your child has been working so hard preparing for the Second Grade Program. It is so much fun practicing the program with them. So please, mark your calendars for March 8, 2022. We are preparing a musical called “Pajama Party”. We will be performing at two different times. Group A and B will perform at 6:00 p.m.(please have your child in the music room at 5:50 p.m.) and Groups C and D will perform at 7:00 p.m. (please have your child in the music room at 6:50 p.m.) Your child should already know what Large Group letter they are. Your child will need to wear pajamas that night and also bring a small to a medium stuffed animal. We cannot wait to perform for you. Thanks so much for your support. If you have any questions, please contact susan.gayle@cfisd.net

Thank You, Volunteers!
This week, our Pre-K students were treated to some exciting animal demonstrations by our PTO VIPS Coordinator, Tonia Jaeggi, and her husband, Bill Jaeggi. In order to present animal demonstrations, volunteers must first participate in training through our Science Resource Center. We appreciate the time it takes our volunteers to present to our students and to train for these presentations.
