Learning at Home
Our new learning packets begin on Monday. Here are a few helpful tips:
1.) Try to spread out the learning activities throughout the day. Kindergartners are not able to sit down and complete all activities at once. This will create undue stress and is unfair to them...and you!
2.) If you or your child is to the point of frustration and/or tears...stop! Select a couple activities to do, instead of doing all of them.
3.) Ultimately, I want children reading daily. As you often hear me say, reading with your child is the best gift you can give him. Take time to read aloud to your child. And, have your child read out loud to you.
4.) Play. Encourage your child to play inside and outside. Play with your child. So much learning and creativity occurs during play.
5.) Limit screen time. Children should not be playing on computers, tablets and phones for extended periods of time.
