END OF THE YEAR NEWS
PLAYGROUND - NEED YOUR HELP
As many of you know, our PTO raised money for new playground equipment. I also wrote a matching grant for $15,000. Part of the grant expectations are to get volunteers to help put together the playground. Our vendor will have experts on hand to guide the process. Our community build day will be Tuesday, July 11 at 8:00 a.m. I will have snacks and lunch provided for anyone who is able to volunteer and help. Please email me and let me know if you are able to stop by and help. Any family and community members are welcome to help!
Please email me with any questions. My email to respond or RSVP is: snewcomer@greenfield.k12.wi.us
Thanks for your help and support!
Summer Math Challenge
Math skills decline over the summer more than any other academic skill, according to researchers at Duke University. The summer Math Challenge is a way to combat that by engaging in a math related game or story for 15 - 20 minutes a day. You choose the option that works best for you and your child. After visiting each class, Mrs. Barbeau gave a bright orange Summer Math Challenge calendar to each student. Keep it handy during the summer and return it in fall for a prize! Most of all, have fun playing! Visit the Summer Math Challenge website for more information. The site is also accessible from the Glenwood homepage:
Last Day Friday (Early Release and No School for K4)
Also, Junior Kindergarten (K4) will not have school on Friday. Thursday will be the last day.
Field Day
Glenwood's PTO annual Field Day will take place on Thursday, June 8th. The event will start around 1:00 p.m. and go until about 3:00 p.m.
A big thank you to the PTO and Cheri Antony for chairing this event. Also, a big thank you to all the volunteers who help make the day run smoothly.

CONSTRUCTION NEWS
Please note that during construction our school will be completely closed. The playground, woods, parking lots, and interior will all be a construction zone. No one will be allowed on site.
If you need to contact the school in the summer, please use email. I will be stationed at Maple Grove this summer. However, the best way to reach me is by email. I will keep everyone posted on the construction process this summer. Stay tuned for the exciting news!
