Camping on the Roof
As you may know, our MUN Run fundraiser was a huge success, and our students surpassed our goal! That means......I have to camp on the roof of Munhall. I will be camping on the roof tonight, starting at 6:00. If you're in the neighborhood, feel free to stop by and say hello. If coming to visit, please be mindful and attentive to our D303 Health and Safety Protocols with regards to mask wearing and social distancing. The last thing I want is to create a gathering place that compromises the work we’ve done this year to keep students safe.
A huge thank you to our students and families, as a large portion of the money raised will be used to purchase a Sensory Path for our students. For information about sensory paths, and the impact in schools, please refer to the article linked here: What are Sensory Paths?.
iReady Spring Diagnostic Reports
Between May 3rd-14th all K-5th grade students took part in the iReady Spring Diagnostic Assessment. This adaptive measure assessed students in both reading and math. The parent reports will be mailed next week, so all families should receive your child’s scores, along with a description for how to interpret the results, via US Mail by the end of next week.
3rd Trimester Report Cards
Report cards for the third trimester will be available on Home Access Center on Wednesday, June 2nd.
Electronic Devices Over the Summer
All students will keep their electronic devices (K-1 iPads and 2-5 Chromebooks) over the summer break. Most apps and subscriptions will remain active, so students can access educational tools over the summer if you so choose. If you know you will be moving out of district for the 2021-2022 school year, you will need to return your child’s device to the main office.
Remote Student Material Pick-Up
We currently have several items for remote students ready for pick-up: yearbooks for those who ordered, Scholastic Summer Reading Book Orders, MUNRun bracelets, and Wredling bags for our 5th grade students. There may still be additional materials to collect, but I know many students/parents are eager to retrieve these materials. Therefore, remote families are welcome to come to the main office to pick up these materials.
5th Grade Clap Out
Friday, May 28th all 5th grade students, remote and in-person, will have the opportunity to participate in a ‘Clap Out’ event to celebrate their achievements and pending transition to middle school. The event will begin at 1:00 pm, and 5th grade families are welcome to join in the festivities. Parents will be asked to remain outdoors, lining up in the designated areas (marked by cones), in a socially distant manner. 5th grade in-person students will return to their classrooms and will be dismissed through our normal dismissal procedures at 1:40. Remote students will be allowed to leave with their families immediately after the event. Parents of in-person students are invited to return to their vehicles after the event to reduce gathering and wait for dismissal.
All remote students will need to complete the COVID-19 Self Screening form online prior to entering the building. Students can either print off their pass or show their pass on the parent’s cell phone at the main entrance. A direct link to the COVID-19 Self-Screening form can be found here: COVID-19 Parent Certification.
Student Registration for 2021-2022 School Year
Returning student registration for the 2021-2022 school year opened on April 26th. Parents can sign into the Returning Student Online Registration form located in the Parents/Community menu of the District website.
Parents/guardians will use their Home Access Center (HAC) credentials to sign in and select individual students to complete each registration. The electronic registration forms for elementary and middle school students should be completed by June 1.
Registration fees for all grades will be available in Pushcoin beginning July 1st and will be billed to reflect the early bird discount if paid by July 31. Pushcoin will email invoices for accounts with balances due on the 15th of each month until paid in full.
Please note, all parents who will have students at Munhall for the 2021-2022 school year need to complete this registration. If you are moving, please call the main office at 331-228-2600, which will help with our planning for next school year.
Returning Library Books
All library books currently on student loan are due back to the LRC today.
Have a great weekend!

Health Office End of Year Reminders
Please remember to contact the Nurse to schedule a time to pick up your child’s medication from the health office, prior to the last day of school. Note a parent or responsible designee must pick up all medication at the end of the school year. All medication not picked up at the end for the school year will be discarded.
Looking forward to the 21/22 school year, please note that a newly updated medication administration form must be completed and signed by both the healthcare prescriber and the guardian for medication to be administered at school. Note this includes over the counter medications such as Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, allergy medications, topical creams, and cough drops. The medication administration forms are available online on the D303 website under the Parents/Community tab under Nurse/Health Services tab.
If you have questions over the summer, I will be checking my email off and on, but please be aware that you may not get a response immediately.

5th Grade Choir next year
Based on current guidelines, we fully anticipate being able to offer choir to incoming 5th grade students next school year! In choir, students learn proper vocal technique, sing in multiple vocal parts, work as a team, make new friends, and sing fun music! Rehearsals will take place before school one morning per week. Keep an eye out for registration in the fall and in the meantime, watch this video for a glimpse at this great opportunity! Choir Video
