Rebecca Clarke | Principal

Dear parents and caregivers,

At the beginning of the term, I said to staff that Term 3 is one of our busiest terms and it did not disappoint! Thank you to all the staff for all the extra things that you do to make our school a place that students want to come to! You all deserve a relaxing holiday. Please note that now Term 3 will conclude on Wednesday September 21, this will be the final newsletter for the term.

At assembly this morning, each class presented their research on various LifeLink Agencies that the Archdiocese support. All I can say is WOW! The work and effort that had gone into the project by our teachers and students was sensational. Everyone should be very proud of the end result.

Today we celebrated our teams' colours by inviting staff and students to ‘Wear your Favourite Team’s Colours’ to school day. It was wonderful to see everyone arrive at school in the different teams that our students support or are part of from local to international teams, from the arts to the sporting field. This was a great way to finish off our last Friday for Term 3.

Next term sees the return of Mrs Tanika Farmer from maternity leave to resume her position as Science teacher. I would like to farewell and thank Ms Andrea Jayasekera for stepping in and doing such a wonderful job as our Science teacher in Term 2 and 3. To Mrs Justine O’Malley, thank you for everything you have done for St Elizabeth’s over the past year and a half. We wish you all the best.

I placed a copy of the ‘Term 4 – Important Dates’ on Seesaw for all our families. I have also attached a copy below. We will endeavour to ensure no events are changed! Also, you can now find a number of school-based procedures and guidelines on our school website that align with CEWA Executive Directives.

To finish off a fantastic term, I would like to wish everyone a happy and relaxing holiday. For those that may be travelling around our beautiful state, please stay safe. I look forward to seeing everyone return for our final term of 2022.

God bless

The Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

A STATEMENT FROM ARCHBISHOP TIMOTHY COSTELLOE SDB

The death of Queen Elizabeth II, after a long reign marked by extraordinary constancy, fidelity, courage and service, will bring great sadness to many people in Australia, including members of the Catholic community.

As the Queen enters into the great mystery of eternal life with the Lord, we will pray for the repose of her soul and for the support and comfort of her family, her nation and the wider community of the Commonwealth.

Queen Elizabeth was never reticent about acknowledging her Christian faith. Her annual Christmas message invariably focused on Jesus Christ as a model of humble and generous service. It was a model she strived to emulate throughout her long life. May she rest in peace.
