The Battle of Saratoga
The Battle of Saratoga started in 1777 when the British general, John Burgoyne, attacked the American forces at Saratoga in New York. It started in September 9th through October 7th. The Americans were led by Benedict Arnold . The British were heavily outnubered yet attacked. The British had about four cannons and the Americans had over Fifteen. The Battle of Saratoga is really two battles. At the first battle the Americans lost, but the British took heavy loses. It happened at Freeman's Farm. At the second battle the Americans won and defeated the British. It happened at Bemis Hieghts.
