The first week of the cafeteria behavior chart was a success! Thank you for supporting us.

Students are motivated and taking on leadership roles in the monitoring and supervision.

Parent Leaders

Based on conversations with teachers, Sam and Jennie created surveys for all grades except 3rd and trained room leaders to give them to the families of children identified by teachers as needing additional support (3rd grade teachers are planning to do a parent training on their own instead). Sam and Jennie will be following up this week with room leaders to see how those conversations are going. When you talk to room leader parents, please check in with them about this process so that they can be part of your team for supporting these students.

Spanish Students Supporting SEED

I teach Spanish at The College Preparatory School, an independent high school in Oakland. Over the years I've been taking my advanced students to elementary schools in Oakland to help in the classrooms or do projects with the kids. My students are very serious and love to help and practice their Spanish with children. I was wondering if your school would be interested in having a group of students to come to a bilingual class a few times during the year and do some activities with your students.

Please let me know if you would like to explore further this possibility.

Best regards,

Marta Ginebreda
