May 20 is World Bee Day - Help Save Our Pollinators!
We all depend on the survival of bees. Bees and other pollinators, such as butterflies, bats, and hummingbirds, are increasingly under threat from human activities. Pollination is, however, a fundamental process for the survival of our ecosystems. What can we do to help protect them?
planting a diverse set of native plants, which flower at different times of the year
buying raw honey from local farmers
avoiding pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides in our gardens
making a bee water fountain by leaving a water bowl outside
Learn more here at this link: United Nations World Bee Day

The Beekeeper’s Lament: how one man and half a billion bees helped feed America by Hannah Nordhaus “Award-winning journalist Hannah Nordhaus tells the remarkable story of John Miller, one of America’s foremost migratory beekeepers, and the myriad and mysterious epidemics threatening American honeybee populations. In luminous, razor-sharp prose, Nordhaus explores the vital role that honeybees play in American agribusiness, the maintenance of our food chain, and the very future of the nation.” GoodReads
