RC Waters Elementary Kindergarten Registration and Screening
Benton-Carroll-Salem School District will hold a Kindergarten Information and Registration Night for parents of incoming kindergarten students on Thursday, March 5 at 6 pm. During this meeting, parents will receive enrollment paperwork, information about kindergarten, tour the building, and will sign up for a screening appointment.
Kindergarten Screening appointments will be on Wednesday, April 8 from 8:15 am - 7:30 pm and Thursday, April 9 from 8:15 am - 3:00 pm at R.C. Waters Elementary.
In order to be eligible for kindergarten, a child must be 5 years old by Sept. 30. All kindergarten students should be screened and registered to begin the school year.

Sunday Fun Open Swims at Oak Harbor High School
Benton-Carroll-Salem Schools is pleased to announce new times for Sunday Fun Open Swims at the Oak Harbor High School Pool for all B-C-S students, families, and community members starting on January 12, 2020. Racquetball courts will also be open to adults during these times. The pool and racquetball courts will be open on the following Sundays from 2:00 until 4:00 PM: January 26; February 2, 9, 16, 23; March 1, March 8, March 15.
Pool admission cost to be paid at the door for B-C-S students is only $1, and B-C-S adults will be $2. Racquetball courts will be open to B-C-S adults only for an additional charge of $2 (limit 4 per court). A lifeguard and site director will be on-site to ensure safety. Please note that these Sunday Fun times will be cancelled if Ottawa County is on a Level Two or Level Three Snow Emergency as announced by the Ottawa County Sheriff.

B-C-S Music Boosters Dueling Pianos Fundraiser
Please join the BCS Music Boosters for an evening filled with the comedic musical talents of the professionals from Main Street Dueling Pianos at our hometown VFW Hall. Ticket sales will begin December 14th and the $45 price includes dinner and drinks. Doors open at 6:30 pm and evening concludes at 10:30 pm.

Students that have passed a level of math facts were treated to a McDonald’s by Mrs. Byington. What a great incentive to keep practicing those math facts.

Mrs. Brough’s class enjoyed listening to a story read by student, Brystol. Each student will get a chance to read a book aloud to their classmates.

The final results are in for the SHARE WHAT YOU CAN Food drive to benefit the BCS food pantry.
We are proud to announce that all classes surpassed their 200 item class goal and that we CRUSHED our school goal of 1,000 items by donating a grand total of 2,730 items.
The final results are:
In 5th place- The FRESHMAN- 252 items
In 4th place- The SENIORS- 376 items
In 3rd place- The JUNIORS- 462 items
In 2nd place- The 8th graders- 768 items. They brought in 420 items on Thursday alone!
And in 1st place- Congratulations to the SOPHOMORES who tallied 872 items
The Sophomores will receive a cookie buffet in their history class in February. And THANK YOU Oak Harbor students and staff in supporting your community and the BCS Food Pantry. In 2019 the Food Pantry gave assistance to 893 families supporting 2,395 people. The Food Pantry is possible due to the generosity of donations of goods and time from churches, businesses, organizations, schools, and individuals in the BCS School District.
