TECH TIPS FOR PARENTS
Tip #1 - Create a "family media use plan" to thoughtfully and appropriately utilize devices in your home. Your plan should work for you within your family values and parenting style.
Set time limits - e.g. no devices after 7pm.
Set boundaries - e.g. no devices in child’ bedroom or at the dinner table.
Set expectations - e.g. parents can view anything child is doing on the device.
RESPONSIVE CLASSROOM
The "Responsive Classroom" approach is very much a part of our Olson structure as we work to build independence, stamina, growth, and positive social interactions. You may hear your child talk about a "morning meeting" or the "refueling station" or an "energizer" that was used as a break in the classroom. We are purposeful about building a sense of belonging and community in each classroom, along with providing challenging learning opportunities and high levels of student engagement. Expectations for best effort and supportive interactions are clear.
TAFFY APPLE SALE - MUSIC BOOSTERS
Families are encouraged to participate in the Taffy Apple Sale to benefit the music program. Plain and peanut taffy apples and caramel corn are available for order. Forms and money are due to Mr. Alcazar on or before September 24. Taffy Apple orders will be picked up at Olson (in the cafeteria) during Parent-Teacher conferences on October 3 and 4. Thanks for your support!
