What is Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is a disease that that begins in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke.
How do you get Lung Cancer
Lung cancer is usually caused by smoking. Cigarette smoking is the main cause of lung cancer. But pipe and cigar smokers are still much more likely to get lung cancer than non smokers. They are also much more likely to get cancer of the mouth or lip.
What is a treatment for Lung Cancer
One treatment is having surgery to cut out the cancer but the doctors are not sure if there is still anymore cancer in their body, so often chemotherapy , radiation therapy or targeted drug therapy is used.
Symptoms of Lung Cancer
- weight loss
- bone pains
- voice changes
- wheezing
- shortness of breath
- chest pains.
Diagnosis of Lung Cancer
You can usually get lung cancer from smoking cigarettes or smoking pipes and cigars but smoking cigarettes is more of a risk of having lung cancer.

The target population for lung cancer is that ages 18 and older smoke cigarettes.
