A Message from the Principal:
Dear North Parents,
You’ll notice this issue is full of information about the many exciting events happening as we begin to close out the school year. We have many fantastic concerts on the horizon. Come support our performing arts students; you will not be disappointed! We are also excited to celebrate our seniors’ accomplishments this Wednesday at Senior Honors Night. What our Norsemen achieve in four years is truly remarkable!
This Sunday at 10:30 our student Peer to Peer group is hosting a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Walk and Mental Health Fair. We appreciate our many community partnerships that are making this important work possible, and our students have worked hard for this incredibly important cause. It looks like it’s going to be a sunny day; come join us at 10:30AM in front of the Performing Arts Center.
We hope you and your family can enjoy the sunshine this weekend!
Take Care,
Dr. Kathryn C. Murray

Nominate Alumni for the Alumni through the decades project
The Grosse Pointe Alumni and Friends, a newly-formed organization that works to connect alumni and friends from around the world to give back to our school system, is celebrating 100 Years of GPPSS.
They are partnering with the district to highlight 100 alumni as part of Alumni Through the Decades project. They need help from our community to find about 30 more people to feature.
Check out the alumni already highlighted by clicking on this link: https://gpalumniandfriends.org/who-we-are/alumni-through-the-decades.html.
For months that a school reported primarily in person, a parent/guardian has the option to request an individual review of their student’s circumstances. This process is called a reconsideration (see form below).
If they have a free/reduced lunch student who attended class partially or fully virtual in a month shown on their notice.
2. What information will a parent or guardian need from the school?
A parent or guardian will need to provide proof that shows how their student received instruction for the month(s) on the notice. We call this a proof document. It will need to contain the following information:
- Student’s name
- The month(s) for which the parent is requesting a reconsideration
- A statement about how the student received instruction for that month
- Name of the school employee filling out the document
- The school employee’s title, e-mail, and telephone number
