Whitkirk Primary School Blog
A weekly blog from the Headteacher
Year 5 tree planting at Temple Newsam
This week, the children have been hard at work rehearsing for the Christmas productions, which start next week. For further details of timings, please scroll down or visit our school calendar here.
We've had a safety conscious week, this week, with D-Side in school to teach the children all about online safety and Network Rail / Leeds United teaching us about railway safety in Monday's assembly.
Our new Headteacher, Mrs Kouni, was in school on Thursday as part of her transition and she will join us for a number of additional days between now and the end of term.
Next week is a busy week with a Year 3 trip, Foundation Stage / Years 3 & 4 and Years 5 & 6 Christmas performances and Christmas dinner too. As if that wasn't enough to look forward to, we have owls visiting our Year 1 children on Wednesday and Year 4 children planting trees on Thursday!
I'm sure you'll agree that the wide variety of learning experiences your children are engaged in is pretty impressive.
I hope everyone has a super weekend; I'll see you all next week.

Fuel for school update
Our Fuel for School stall runs every Tuesday and works on a 'pay as you feel' basis. The food is of good quality and there are often lots of fruit and vegetables.
Although it is 'pay as you feel,' the money raised is used to buy butter and replace toasters so the children can have toast every morning at school. This has been really beneficial to our children. When items are bought at a fair price, this helps our children in school and reduces food waste in a broader sense.
Thank you for your continued support of this initiative.
Christmas donations for those in need
They are welcoming any food donations into Whitkirk Primary between 10th and 14th December.
