GCJHS News
2. December 8th = Greenfield Central 8th graders will take the PSAT 8/9 this semester instead of the NWEA assessment. The PSAT 8/9 is the first test in the SAT Suite of Assessments--which also includes Indiana’s graduation assessment, the SAT. See the letter below for more information.
Please make sure your 8th grader comes to school that day with their iPad fully charged. Bringing their charger would also be helpful.
3. Info about next week’s Spirit Days and Dance can be found below in the flyers.
4. Toys for Tots: Please send any new (unwrapped) toys in with your kids next week so they can turn them in to their 1st period teachers. These are being collected by our National Junior Honor Society.
5. After school transportation changes -- If you need your student to ride a different bus on a particular day, please communicate this in writing to the school office by 3:00pm. This will allow us to get a note that your student can present to the bus driver. If your student will be changing from bus rider to car pick-up, or vice versa, you would only need to communicate that change to the office if you need us to notify your student at school.
6. Are you in need of Food Support? Check out the Food Support Resources 2021-2022 document in the download section below to find locations and times for specific food support.
7. On Thursday December 9th we will be having our holiday meal during lunch. This year we will be having turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes with gravy, rolls, green beans, cranberry apple crisp and homemade pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting. This is FREE for ALL students this year!
8. The boys basketball teams with the help of NJHS are sponsoring an Orange Night on 12/15 for the Batton and Thompson families. We will have donation buckets, ribbons for sale as well as a silent auction. I know the holidays can be a busy time for you and your families, but this is a great opportunity to not only support our student athletes but help raise money to help two great families. If you are struggling for some gift ideas we do currently have some pretty great items in our silent auction.
Some of our bigger items are:
- Malik Hooker autograph football
- Kenny Moore autograph football
- Row 14 Pacers tickets when they play the Suns in January
- Robert Mathis limited edition bobble head
We will also have some Cougar shirts and Purdue pullovers. We have some IU ones too, but not sure who would want those.
The games start at 5:30 with 7th grade and 8th will play following that. The silent auction will be in the hallway and set up at 5:00.
Thank you for your support and hope to see you there!
