Notes from Dr. Sullivan

We have had a great start to the 2021-2022 school year. This year we have 550 PreK-5th grade students. This newsletter will be emailed to families each Friday.

New Staff

Emily Cozad - Resource Teacher, Marva Sherry - CNA, Keeley Nyman- Healthroom Para, Amber Ferris - Library Para, Josephine Pohl - Preschool Para, Kelsey Gansebom - SLP, Mary Wallace - Kitchen Para.

Water Bottles

Our drinking fountains have been turned off as a covid precautionary. All students need to bring a water bottle to refill throughout the day at our bottle filling stations.

PTO Dates

Everyone is encouraged to become an active member of our PTO. Mark your calendars for the following meeting dates: August 30, September 28, October 26, November 29, January 25, February 28, March 29, April 26. The meetings start at 6:00 p.m.

Handling Positive Covid Cases

If we receive information that a student or staff member has tested positive I will email the parents in that student's or teacher's classroom to make them aware. The parents will be asked to monitor their child for symptoms for 14 days. Students will be allowed to continue attending school in-person.

If your child starts showing certain covid symptoms at school they will be asked to stay home for 10 days or to get tested for an earlier return.

We are not longer sending school-wide emails when someone tests positive. The number of positive cases at Neihardt will be updated daily on the district website.

iPad Insurance is available. Many parents requested insurance during online enrollment, but this is not activated until the $15 fee is paid. Please send $15 (cash or check) in an envelope to the school office marked with your child's name.
