Vogel Weekly Update 2019-2020
The Greatest School because we are #bettertogether
Highlights of the Week:
Last week's SAE total = 65
Last week's TAE total = 16
Quote of the Week:
"The ones who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do." --Anonymous
Employee Information Verification:
Everyone received an email asking them to log into Employee Access to verify your current contact information and tax delivery method. Please make sure you complete that ASAP.
February Make-Up Hours:
All professional staff who were employed by the district on September 19th are required to make up 7 hours of work prior to February 17th. If all hours are not made up and documented, staff members will be required to come to work on the 17th. All staff members who have the required hours completed before the February 17th date do not have to report to work on the 17th. The binder for make up hour documentation is on the shelf in my office. Please let me know if you have questions or concerns.
New Additions:
Our new poster maker and shredder have arrived! The shredder is up and running in the workroom. The poster maker still needs to be unpacked and installed by district personnel. Hopefully that will happen soon!
Daily Attendance:
Update: Thank you for doing such an amazing job making sure your attendance it is on time. The effort is noticed and much appreciated!!!
TEA is watching attendance this year. There is no wiggle room anymore. Attendance must be taken at 10:00 am. Not at 9:50 or 10:05..... 10:00 am on the dot. The attendance reminder has been changed to alert at 10:00 am. If you have questions, please see Stacey.
If one teacher misses the 10:00 am deadline (meaning one teacher misses taking attendance or one teacher takes it too early or too late) the school looses funding for all students for the day. That is roughly $30,000 per day. YIKES!!!
If you have thoughts on how we can make this happen easier, please let me know.
Walkthrough Tickets:
We will continue celebrating the great instruction we see by handing out raffle tickets for walkthroughs. Some specific instructional practices we will be looking for are:
* small group instruction
* students receiving feedback from one another/student engagement (turn and talk, four corners, talking chips etc..)
* randomization (popsicle stickers, spinners, colored cards, etc...)
* using CHAMPS
If you have something exciting going on, invite us in. We'd love to come!
